Mountain Biking Nukht East Ridge

****   Add a review
#38 of 76 mountain bike trails in Mongolia
#5,017 in the world

A big steep one mile climb with lots of hike-a-bike followed by a really nice two mile descent. This makes for a good starting trail to ride across the entire network in the Yarmag Hills system. The entire trail is 4.35 miles long if you ride it out to the road, but the last half mile to mile is the least interesting part of the trail. So if you are riding the entire system, I recommend that you shorten up the Nukht East Ridge trail by taking one of the cutover trails to the next trail heading up the mountain. This will shorten up the trail by either ~0.5, ~0.75 or ~1.0 mile.

Definitely steep but nice ride. Great start to the rest of the system. The trail surface is a mix of mostly hardpack and grass. A couple of summers ago, I saw an ibex mountain goat on top, standing on a rock outcrop protruding out high over Nukht Valley. He looked confident and proud. Beautiful.
