Mount A is a great place for a short hike, but a terrible place for a mountain bike ride. When I say this I am talking about the main mountain, the Ring Trail and all of it's associated trails to and around the main summit. They are very rocky and technical and not my definition of fun for mountain biking (I am a fan of the fast and flowy and Mount A is not that.) If you like really rocky riding, then you will like the ring, but I think it should be left for the hikers.
However, if you access the trails from the back or side and ride onto the 2nd and third hills, the experience is different. There is still some technical riding, but the trails have much more flow, with some good and challenging climbing. Follow the road past the main lot and the summit road, around the back of the mountain and park in the small lot near the bottom of the old ski hill. Ride in on the ATV road and access the 2nd hill trails from there.
