Trail Description
About this trail
From the gate, follow the singletrack off to the left. It should make a turn up the hill, and start heading towards a big grassy field. Look towards your left in the bushes, and very quickly you should see a trail that drops into the trees there. Hit that! It is an amazing section of trail that swoops up and down in the gully. Afterwards, just keep following the singletrack. The singletrack will join the ski trail occaisionally, but there is a well-worn route to follow. Just keep following it, and follow any signage. There is a downhill-type trail that spurs off the furthest corner of the main cross country loop, if you wanna hit it.

So yeah, just follow the trail all the way around the mound, and you'll get back to the start. Sprinkled around on the trail there are a see-saw, some very fun bridges, and drops and jumps on the downhill section. Enjoy!

Review: I think the review depends on what you're looking for. I prefer the flow of some of the Twin Cities trails like Murphy, Carver, Leb, so Memorial Park leaves me less satisfied. There isn't a unified/defined loop but rather some interconnected sections and double-track, and the signage is not great. But with that said, if you prefer more of a raw, old-school vibe with some great views of Red Wing, this might be for you.

Review: I went 2 times in the period of 2 days, and I thought it was an outstanding ride. there are fun easy flowy parts, and then there are more challenging parts, ups and downs, I really thought this place was great.

Review: Pretty overhyped. Some good segments of singletrack but lots of doubletrack or prairie connections. The oddest thing is one of the singletrack trails on southwest side of the bluff that takes you downhill and suddenly turns into a 6 foot wide rock strewn fall line climb back up the bluff side.

Review: A real gem in SE MN. Fast, very fast and lots of flow. The ups are mostly short, thank heaven. A must ride in the fall. The club that works this gold mine do an outstanding J-O-B. Thank you Red Wing Area Mountain Bike Org.

Review: A little bit of everything. Fast and flowy, good climbs, technical sections. Trails are very well cared for by the local club. Some of the best marked trails we have seen in MN.

Review: Great little urban trail system! A little bit of everything here. Started at the designated parking area and followed Black Loop. Starts out fun with minimal challenge. Some nice new trail looking to eliminate double track. Then about 1/2 way around the real fun starts! Some wicked fast downhills and tough climbs. Some of the toughest around. Thanks goodness they are short! Then the finish with a couple of fun teeter totter features! Good stuff. Keep up the good work. The terrain here has a ton of potential. Everything is either up, down or turning. Lots of turning. Makes speeds slower. But a couple of bomber downhills for some variety!

Review: Compared to Minneapolis metro trails, it is the best around. Well designed with more progressive riding styles in mind. Features DH sections that mimic that of Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN. Best area to ride if you are Dh/Enduro. However, a decent amount of hiking and XC to get to the good spots. People rave about Lebanon/Cuyuna, this is the real deal.

Review: Fun trails with some great views from up on the bluff. Trails are mostly hand-cut through the woods with some tight, twisty tree lines to manage and some challenging ups and downs. Signage is pretty good and great some great areas to picnic if you like, with some amazing views of the river valley. Local club is doing a nice job and seem to be working hard to keeping fresh and challenging. Especially beautiful in the fall.

Review: I'm still pretty new to this (just started riding last summer) and I have only been on a few trails; but this one was the best so far. Lots of turns, but they weren't too tight or too close together so a newbie like me could handle them. I liked the up and down terrain and the views. I'll be coming back here for sure.
