Dusty, usually hot --- this is Maui --- and lots of kiawe thorns and very sharp lava rocks to flat your ride. Have a strategy to minimize flats and be prepared with plenty of backup tubes & air. The Plunge comes after you finally stop climbing and if you're going to flat, it'll probably be there, flying down the hill, your tire landing on a sharp-edged rock or thorn.
