Two mountain bikers riding through a lush, green forest, surrounded by tall trees. Sunlight filters through the canopy, illuminating the path as they navigate the terrain. One biker is in the foreground, smiling and focused, while the second biker trails behind. The scene captures the essence of outdoor adventure and the beauty of nature. Mountain Biking Lussi & Loggers

*****   Add a review
#43 of 301 mountain bike trails in New York
#2,094 in the world

The Lussi & Loggers trail system is Lake Placid's old-school wet, rooty XC trails. These trails can be tricky even though they're flat, but the convenient access from downtown can't be beat! Cinderella Story is one of the best ways to access the trail system from downtown, and you can pedal as many or as few of the loops here as you'd like.

For an even longer ride, use the Jackrabbit XC ski trail and a short segment of road to connect to the Craig Wood trail system for some more modern singletrack.

Had so much fun. Not many hills if you stay away from jackrabbit trail. Well maintained. Best trails I have ever rode.

Excellent riding and some Superb trail features! Not to many hills. The trails are beginner to intermediate with a few big features. There are some drops, skinnies, a few jumps, bridges and even a teeter-toter.

I think the crown jewel in the Placid area for Mountain biking. Start with a fun trip down Cinderella story and cross a number of small obstacles, some easy some for the more advanced. Follow this a couple miles over to Loggers for many more mile sof trails, or drop down to the south and hook up with Craig Wood. You can easily spend a day in this area without getting bored. Not too many hills, unless you scoot over to Craig Wood. Well worth a day trip

Rider questions

Q: Heading threw the area June 17/18, trails in ok shape?

Q: We're to park
A: You can park in the golf parking lot just past Alpine Inn as you leave Placid headed to Wilmington on 86 to access Cinderella story. About 1/2 mile down, and 1 mile down are much smaller pulloffs on the right that you can access the Jackrabbit or Stateline
