Mountain Biking Lower Lightning Creek Trail #425

  Add a review
#207 of 1,216 mountain bike trails in Washington
#17,679 in the world

A well-graded and located trail near Lightning Creek, ideal for mountain bike users of all abilities. From the parking area stay on the north side of the creek to a pole cattle guard where the trail tread begins. At 1 mile, just after crossing the creek, Blue Buck Trail #421 branches to the left. The trail then crosses Lightning Creek twice, and at 2.7 miles goes into open timber to join closed Forest Service Road 4320-050 for about 0.5 mile and then Forest Service Road 4230. Go 0.1 mile on this road and turn left onto another closed road (both have trail signs) for 0.25 mile to a clearing to get to Upper Lightening Creek Trail.
This trail is well-graded and located, making it ideal for mountain bike uses or all abilities. Occasionally you'll see insulators attached to trees, remnants of the telephone lines that served remote lookouts in the Beaver Creek watershed. source: fs.usda.gov
