Mountain Biking Keg Creek

****   Add a review
#225 of 395 mountain bike trails in Georgia
#10,172 in the world

You can trailhead from either side of the bridge and both direction are a great ride. No matter which side you ride you will have to traverse the paved road to cross the bridge. If you plan to ride late in the day, make the crossing at the beginning of your ride. This is a fun trail with lots of light technical crossing and only a couple of spots where you have to dimount. Roots, rocks, logs, creeks, dips, bridges, and great views, this trail has it all. 7.5 mile trail .25 mile paved.

UPDATE: Keg Creek has been connected to the New Bartram & Wildwood Trail extension. This means that you can ride from the Bartram, Westdam trailhead to Keg Creek and back for a 45~ mile lollipop. Awesome.

Rode it today. Thanks to SORBA CSRA for the long overdue clean up this summer. Keg Creek was a bit more challenging then the rest of the Bartram trail or Lake Springs loops. Great workout and good change of scenery.

Rode it today. SORBA-CSRA volunteers just finished clearing and cleaning up the trail. It is in great riding condition right now.

This was a good change. The trail had a few trees down from the logging that is goin on in the area. Even with the trees down I still had a blast. I can't wait till the spring to ride this trail after a little TLC. Lots of roots and a few sections with rocks.

Spiderwebs were pretty bad this morning but it's still a good ride. Quite a few logs in the trail too but most can be ridden over.

Good ride, but needs more up keep. There were over 20 trees down. So could be hoped over, but most could not be. Some trees were so massive that the trail was blocked. Stream crossing (without bridges) were near impossible along with a river crossing that cannot be risen through and is up to hubs deep.

    Overall, good long ride.

Great trail if not for the eight thousand spider webs across the trail. Add an extra hour to your expected trail time for pulling webs WITH spiders off your face!!

Fun trail but in need of some chainsaw love to get rid of a few massive trees. Easy riding but still twisty enough to keep you on your toes.

roots, rocks, creek crossings, off canter old school style of trail. I find the flow a little better going clock wise but fun both ways. Cross Washington Rd. to add Bartram Trail for a longer ride.

ROOTS!! Lots of them. This is a fun trail, that will keep you on your toes with all the roots and creek crossings, some are easy others aren't. The trail is kept up fairly well, and it doesn't see near the traffic that bartram does so there is plenty of peace & quiet.

Unlike the newer trails in the CSRA, Keg Creek is old school with tricky creek crossings and lots of roots. It's a fun and scenic loop that can be connected to other trails including the Bartram Trail and Mistletoe State Park.

Chose this as my first trail since I decided to start riding again. It wasn't too technical, most areas I just pumpd through. One or two sopts though had me scratching my head. Props to anyone who has a hand in keeping this trail maintained. Excellent job. Great ride!

Nice trail for intermediate rider. I wouldn't classify this one as a beginner. I certainly wouldn't bring the kids out to ride it due to the numerous dips, turns, bridges, creek crossings, and tons of roots. Trail was a ton of fun, especially the first half, if you begin after you cross the bridge (coming from Augusta).

This trail was flat as Goo had stated but it was still a fun ride. I just stood and pumped it out for 8 miles as hard as I could.

this was a pretty sweet trail! the quality of the singletrack was fabulous, and included lots of roots and whoop-de-doos. however, there was very little climbing or descending because this entire area is FLAT!! as we were driving to the trailhead, i was like "there are no hills here, like seriously, it's stinking flat." and it was flat, but the trail was still delicious!
