Any rider looking for the some of best riding in Central Illinois should look for a quick "off ramp" from the horse trails to the woods. You'll find brake-busting downhills, switchbacks and deer-ramming chutes. The trails away from the main (mapped) trails are currently groomed into great singletrack. Rt. 150 (War Memorial Drive) west out of Peoria, through Kickapoo. Main entrance is off of 150 a few miles outside of Kickapoo. Turn Rt. into the park. Trail access is from virtually any of the parking areas.
