Trail Description
About this trail
Update 7/11/13 by mtbgreg1:

Much of this trail was rerouted in early 2013 to be a much more sustainable singletrack trail, and now features some awesome switchbacks up to the top of the ridge. The new trail still crosses the reservoir on the doubletrack and climbs the steep doubletrack on the Bull Mountain side of the reservoir.

This trail serves as one of the main connectors between the Bull Mountain and the Jake Mountain sides of the trail system.

Review: If going north to south, it's a moderately tough climb. Nothing like the old Baby Heads trail it replaced. The forest has largely grown back since they built the trail, so it doesn't feel like a dirt sidewalk anymore. The descent from the top to the dam is a fun one!

Review: Good trail just be aware. Mountain bikers have to yield to everyone and people going down will not yield to cyclist who are climbing. The winter is better because the underbrush has died down some but there are creek crossings.

Review: Serious erosion on both sides of the dam, so choose your line wisely if descending. This trail gets a fair amount of horse traffic, and while some sightlines were opened up in early spring, there's still blind corners with dense brush making it hard to see horses on the trail.

Review: Great view from the Jones Creek Dam. Some great ups and downs depending on which direction you are going. More down than up coming east down from Bull. Some erosion and double track along the way.

Review: Part of the Jake/Bull mountain system. Depending on what direction you are traveling makes for a good climb or a fun downhill, either way always a good ride.

Review: It looks like its been a while since someone reviewed this trail because it is now my favorite part of the trail system. I always ride it counterclockwise in order to enjoy the switchbacks and nice views. It does have it's climbs but nothing that takes forever like bull mountain. The folks who take care of these trails have been doing a great job!

Review: Lots of doubletrack that has overgrown into singletrack in some areas. Currently listed as 223E on Forest Service markers. No matter which direction you ride this one, you are in for some tough climbs and if the soil isn't dry, those "tough" climbs can become fearsome. Has a short connector trail at the halfway point that allows you to cut over to the Moss Creek trail or bail out onto FS28-1. No real need for that though, bailouts are for the weak!!! Unfortunately, it looks like this trail gets some action from the horses on a regular basis. Starts directly across from the entrance to Bull Mt trail and eventually dumps you into the Turner Creek/Nimblewill Trail.

Similar Trail: Feels a lot like the Jake Mt trail, not sure I would actually "recommend" that one though.

Review: climb up the sweet section of turner creek trails and come down the jones creek trail for a really sweet, all-singletrack loop with a killer climb and sick descent!

Review: Good trail but short. At the fork in the singletrack (marked 1J) take the left fork - the right just spits you out at the forest road. Connects Bull Mountain to Turner Creek trails.
