About this trail
Location for the 2017 VA Mountain Bike Championships (Date: 5-21-2017)

Aug 20 2017: 6th Annual Shiner's Revenge XXC (40 mile Endurance Mountain bike race utilizing park trails and incredible trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains)

Main Loop:

15 mile continuous loop (white black arrows) is a full on mountain bike adventure. Fast, flowing descents, technical rock gardens, smooth climbs, creek crossings, various a/b lines for advanced sections of trail. 100% singletrack!!!

If this trail was anywhere other than Woolwine, VA there would be a full parking lot everyday... however the beautiful mountain scenery, abundant wildlife, leaves the perfect recipe for a ride with your friends, and maybe a local. Come check out what "Mountain Bike Virginia" guide book author Martin Fernandez says is the BEST trail you have never heard of.

Shorter Loop Options are available. Check out Kiosk for updated map, and route options. There are several other trails within the park for any riders with enough juice left to navigate the old school trails.

Review: Great trail in a rural part of Virginia. Hats off to all the trail builders and the people that maintain the trail. Trail virtually had no debree or leaves. Still soft in areas because alot of the trail is freshly cut into the woods, just needs people riding it. Has some fun obstacles, nice Creek crossings, some small jumps and drops, and a good bit of climbing for the areas. These trails would be packed with people if in a more populated area. If you live in Roanoke, Danville, or Greensboro definitely worth your time checking these trails out.....they will only get better. Big shout out to Chad who I met on Saturday Feb 4.

Review: As everyone has said, these trails are great. I wanted to clarify a few things I read. 1st off these trails are not rocky. There are a few sections of rocks, mostly put there by the trail builders, but for the most part, there needs to be more rocks. 2. These trails are not good wet weather trails. When I rode in late January, it had not rained in over a week and was 59 degrees, the problem was it was 22 that morning and thus alot of freeze thaw action going on. I look forward going back when the trails are not so slick. Overall I was impressed with the amount of work that had been put into these trails, it was great to see. The terrain was ok, but the trail builders definitely made the most of it.

Review: Hidden Gem. Had no clue these trails even existed. I found them on Single tracks and figured they were a typical park trail...... I was so wrong. These are amazing trails. I was shocked by the flow, and fun factor considering the mountain terrain. I even met the trail crew (police and inmates) working the day after Thanksgiving making them even better. The best trail I have ridden to date, highly recommend!

Review: Woolwine Trails is Complete!!! 15 mile continuous loop (white black arrow) is seriously full on mountain biking. Are there better trails? Yes, however I have not been on any. This has literally everything that a "Mountain Biker" would want in an XC trail. I ride here over 100 days a year, and this place still entertains me (that really says something).
