Mountain Biking Homestead
#883 of 1,430 mountain bike trails in Colorado
Homestead is mostly a two-track or doubletrack trail though some areas are diminishing to singletrack. It is signed as Trail 12 on the ground. Most downhills are quite fast, and there are some steep climbs. It passes through beautiful mixed conifer forests throughout. It is one of the better trails in the park for mountain biking imo. It can be connected with Elk Meadow trail and Cheesman Trail for a nice ride.

Follow the main road (Wapiti Road) through the park first west and then north for 2.9 miles until it dead ends at the back end (far north end) of Grouse Mountain Campground. Here you will find a parking lot/trailhead for several trails, including Homestead Trail. Lots of parking available.
There are some fast downhills and steep climbs. Beautiful setting.
