Mountain Biking Green Mountain Falls

  Add a review
#163 of 252 mountain bike trails in Wyoming
#17,558 in the world

A 4x4 trail that turns into singletrack and follows the North Fork Encampment River and ends at Green Mountain Falls. The first 2 miles of 4x4 trail can be a little rough. The singletrack can be rock, rooty, and has a short climb or two, but otherwise can be ridden by novices. Green Mountain Falls are scenic, especially when snowmelt is at its peak. Well marked.

Getting there
Drive west of Encampment for 6 miles on Wyoming State Highway 70. Turn onto National Forest System Road (NFSR) 550. Continue driving for another 2 miles until you reach NFSR 550.2H. Park at this intersection and ride. For a shorter ride on singletrack only, the 550.2H road can be driven by high clearance vehicles to the other trailhead at the beginning of the singletrack section.
