I would agree. I too was told this trail is so so. I don't live in the area so was told to do other trail systems. I'm glad I didn't listen either. I've ridden in the rockies, midwest, eastcost and now tried this. I found it to be very fun, challenging, well marked, and fast and flowy in areas. I do wish it was not directional because I would like to have tried the other way as well. I will definitely try this one again. Not to mention, they have tools and pumps as a service to riders at the base for free. Never seen that before. What a nice thing the park service did for riders. I just hope some idiot does not go and steal them. I like the change of scenery with the trees from oaks to pines and such. Quit cool. Some sections reminded me of Dupont in NC (Pisgah) area. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
