Elk Trail begins at the top of Brundage Mountain Resort located about 12 miles from the town of McCall Idaho. It is accessed by chairlift or riding up on of the access roads.
The easiest way down Brundage Mountain is also the funnest when no one's around. Avoid it when the lifts are running and the families are riding, but when the coast is clear this trail can be ripped.
Thank |Elk Trail is listed as the easiest way down Brundage Mountain. It is still mountain biking and can be really fun. When not super technical it does have a few places where rock skills help. Most of the trail is fairly gentle singletrack. Just keep your eyes on the trail because obstacles appear randomly and can come up quickly. Watch for wildlife. Sightings are common and include most often deer, some elk and even occasionally bears. There are birds and chipmunks everywhere. Watch out for them on the trails. Be safe and have fun!
