This trail is only the second off road trail I have ever ridden, the first being the Bear Creek Lake Regional Park trail. I would not call this trail enough for a full days ride, however it is a great place to work on a beginners endurance, climbing a "false flat" and building confidence with speed on the downhill. The short (couple hundred yards?) downhill to the lake can be taken quite fast & it is double track. This allowed myself to focus on balanced position on the bike, correct posture, grip, and maintaining a planned line while cutting back and forth on the double track at speed. This was the middle of a 27mi ride from the northern suburbs for me and I enjoyed it. I will probably continue to use this whenever I want to work on my downhill confidence but it will require a lot of back and forth riding through a short section. I give it 3 stars b/c it has useful features but it's not long enough for me to want to ride by itself. The off leash dog park ends before you get to the downhill to the lake (there's a narrow fence that states such). Also, there is a water fountain and restroom at the trailhead.
Also saw my first coyote down along the outside of the fence line by the lake. It took off up the hill away from me as soon as it saw me approaching.
