Review: The mountain bike trail is on the opposite side of the lake as the parking. Just follow the paved walking/biking trail around the lake and the mountain bike trailhead is easily seen. This would be a good place to introduce a beginner. It is not technical (some small features, no significant roots or rocks) and the elevation change is not drastic. I was staying in Cookeville and had my bike with me. The guys at the Cookeville Bike Shop suggested Cane Creek instead of driving farther away. If this trail was near my hometown, I would definitely use it to introduce new riders to the sport. Worth the ride if you are in town, not worth traveling to from a distance.
