I grew up near Elizabethtown but moved to the triangle area after graduating from NC State 23 years ago. I got into MTBing about 10 years ago and I have been a bike addict ever since. I never would have imagined my home town having a bike trail, let alone such a well built, well maintained, challenging trail with great climbs and flow. It is great to see an organization like Cape Fear Sorba, come together with the town of Elizabethtown, local businesses, and the community to support this project that is a benefit to so many.
Browns Creek has sections that remind me of so many different trails. It has sections that remind me of Warrior Creek but not as long (yet). It is well maintained like Lake Crabtree. It has the flow of RTP trail but with more elevation and longer more challenging climbs. It also remind me of some of the Greensboro Trails. The trail also drains very well with it's packed sand and loam soil consistency.
I try to ride Browns Creek when I go home to visit my Mom and Dad.
