Trail Description
About this trail
Like the directions say, this is an old canal towpath. It is flat, wide, and anti-challenging. The trail runs from Trenton to New Brunswick, offering over 70 miles of trail. This run however just goes from Bridge St. in Lambertville, NJ to Bridge St. in Stockton, NJ.

Review: This is a good trail to ride with people who don't normally ride. No challenges at all. Nice scenery in some areas, specially along the Delaware River. This is not a good ride for mountain bikers, unless it is the only way they can get their spouse or children to ride with them. This area does have an interesting history if you care to research it.

Review: The ride along the D&R Canal is largely uninteresting and monotonous. The path is flat and well wide enough to fit traffic going both ways. There are no obstacles for mountain bikers on this trail. I find it only useful to use this trip when traveling to different towns (Princeton, Lambertvile, New Brunswick) and to avoid using the busy highways or narrow roads in NJ. There is direct access to Six Mile Run in Franklin right of the canal if you are looking for trails after an easy warm-up ride.

Review: Not very exciting, but it is good for a quick fix when I don't feel like driving somewhere to ride.
