Trail Description
About this trail
A lot has changed on this trail network since Jeff first road it back in 2009. Through efforts of the local NICA team and other volunteers, Bartram now boasts 7.5 miles of singletrack that has old school, hand built sections as well as machine built flow trails. With a new trail head kiosk, maps and waypoint markers throughout the network, these trails have now become accessible to anyone wanting to ride, run or hike the area. There are 3 marked loops now. The Green loop is 5.5 miles of pure beginner friendly (but not boring) trails. The Blue loop incorporates the trails from the Green loop and adds in the old school trails to bring the total mileage to 7.5 miles. The Red loop throws everything Bartram has to offer. It pieces together both singletrack sections in different ways from the Blue and Green loops, letting you ride the most fun segments in the direction they were built to flow the best and adds in some forest roads to incorporate more climbs and some fast downhills. There is also a connector trail now that leads over to Selma Erwin Nature Preserve Trails. Riding both trails in one loop gives about 20 miles and one heck of a workout.

Review: Not sure how you can give a difficulty level when this park has three levels available, plus some roads for novices. Great place to learn and some technical areas as well. Great for an aerobic workout with power line climbs. Great place for an after work ride with over 12 miles of trails.

Review: I think this is a very nice trail, specifically the Green (Beginner) Loop. No real difficult areas but some squeezes, hills and descents to let you know this isn't a road. I like it as a good beginner trail and look forward to 'graduating' to the Blue (intermediate) level soon. I downloaded the trail map from the website and it is specific enough to find you way around easily

Review: The Red Trail is pretty fun-- not technical or too hilly. Although-- like everyone else has said-- it is easy to get lost "or at least feel lost." There is one kiosk with a map and there are little red arrows to follow-- but confusing where the trail runs into itself to know which way to go. I did not carry a map, but got back to the lake ok. Saw some guys out mowing along the trail-- thanks guys!!!

Review: I just moved down to Milledgeville yesterday and went to ride these trails today. It's very easy to get lost once you get further into the trail. Couple of steeper and loose climbs but it was fun despite the heat index of 105 degrees. Great beginners trail and the forest it is in is nice, I saw 2 deer at 1 in the afternoon.

Review: pretty fun single track trial. awesome trial for the ones who are just beginnning to ride. i have rode the trial twice and i will be back. its fun, some decent climbs but nothing to sweat about. there are some places to gain speed which is always fun, but again nothing to sweat about. but i agree with the below post....bring someone who has ridden there before. the first time my friend and I took a wrong turn and found ourselves lost for a couple hrs., but all in all, its fun!

Review: It took me a while to find the singletrack my first time out - stick to the left side of the lake and you should see signs for it. Many gravel roads and doubletrack trails to choose from here, some of which are pretty overgrown. Bring a map or a friend who knows their way around!
