I was surprised to see this one was not yet in the database--it may well be Breck's best quickie. Be sure to ignore the first singletrack you see on the left and go all the way to Baker Tank before turning. This is a route that makes you really feel like you're getting some downhill bang for your climbing buck. Despite the altitude (10.4 - 11K ft), you don't need a third lung to pull this one off. The three mile climb up Boreas Pass Road will go by quickly as the grade is very mellow and the scenery is beyond spectacular. The beginning of the singletrack will suck some wind out of you, but after that it's easy going for a while and then downhill. Much of this singletrack is so rooty, you would think you're back East if you had more oxygen. The steep part of the downhill is also rather rocky making for a supremely fun mile.
If you want more mileage, this trail lends itself well to doing multiple laps. You can also pedal up from town for more vertical using a combination of roads and other singletrack.
