Review: Holy hell hills. Be prepared for more ups than downs. Honestly, I don't even remember the downhills because I was so spent from the ascents.

Review: I've been riding the various trails in and around Lake Chabot for decades. I typically no longer ride on any of the asphalt trails mostly because of encounters with walkers and it's boring. I ride from Lake Chabot Rd up to the ranger station which gives me a decent warmup. From there I go on Ten Hills trail then onto Brandon around the golf course. Once past the golf course Brandon trail is all up hill for about 20 minutes, with various amount of incline. I take Towhee trail down through the campground to Honker Bay Trail along Lake Chabot to Cameron trail back to Ten Hills trail and home. With the interconnecting trails you can ride for hours into the Oakland hills. the longest I've done is about 20 miles, but you can go a lot farther if you want. Best to get free Anthony Chabot Regional park map. Please note that the trail that is listed on this site is only a fraction of what's available. I won't grade this trail because the criteria is too limiting.

Review: The first ride after a along time off. Reccomend it fully, you'll get a good pump.

Review: Just go and get lost in Chabot, enjoy the outdoors and get a workout. Pack some snacks and plenty of water. Go clockwise past the dam and into the forest. Meander around the park mostly keeping right at forks. If you make it to the Redwood Canyon golf course (a really fast down hill fireroad) you will have made a pretty good loop.

Review: Only a few miles of legal singletrack. Fireroads offer no challenge other than climbing endurance.

Review: Not a bad trail. If you go via the 14.41 Honker Bay Trail, it is more exciting. I just wish that the singletrack was open to bikers. I have hiked the singletrack, and it would be awesome to do on a bike.
