Trail Description
About this trail
the trail is home made, lots of fun and very managable for beginners, but also good for regular riders. leaves on the trail make it difficult to see, but not a worry. try and stick with the trail so it gets packed the right way, and minimal damage is done to the woods. there is a bear on the McCauley side of Abinachee who has cubs every year or so. she is scary but won't hurt you. her expectations are that you keep going!!
The loops are a good run if you experts have just ridden Nick's Lake and tested your endurance climbing McCauley Mountain.
Old Forge has miles of really good trails, mostly singletrack and hidden. This is a great place for novice riders and after work types like me

Review: Very scenic. Wet on day of ride. Some sections to rocky and rooty to ride but easy to walk around.

Review: This is a newer trail in old forge. there is no parking area.. and you have to walk up most of a mountain to even get a trail you can bike on.. it really only flows one way and if you go the wrong way on the trail.. you will have no idea where your going.. it is mostly un-maintained.. the concept is great for the local area.. but the people that built it.. built it like an Adirondack trail not like a real single track.. so they just tried to cover the amount of space they had with one trail.. instead of packing the trail into the actual amount of space they had.. would add that its an addition to the cross country running trails for the school.. so there are many trails overlapping the bike trail.. making it even more confusing...

Similar Trail: Moss Lake and Bub&Sis.. or Nicks lake
