Love the guys at this shop. Took the family to umbstead today after a few miles my tubeless front tire broke seal and deflated completely. Called these guys up after a short drive walked in got aired back up and learned a little from some free advice. Best part asked what I owed and they didn't charge me a penny. Way to earn a customer u guys will get my business when I am in town
I would only go to performance if I have no questions and already know what I want as service is hard to come by unless you go find someone and drag them off what they are already doing. Pretty good in store selection but better off on the website. Purchased my road bike from them. They set up the price tags on bikes to look like they saved you a ton of money but you really paid average price.
When I decided to get back into mountain biking after a 10 year hiatus, I wasn't very confident in my ability to pick a new bike. The staff were helpful and showed me options and I never felt pressured. The bike I took home felt nice at the shop, but after a trail ride I realized that it wasn't what I was looking for. It was no problem at all to take the bike back to the shop. After I explained that I didn't feel that the bike was right for me, they listened to my needs and I ended up leaving with a bike that I am happy with.
Best shop in Raleigh for sure. I purchased a new hybrid bike today and regularly get my '66 vintage road bike and old trust mtb serviced there regularly. The guy told me today that they have 4 huge sales a year, and we racked up on one today! Very knowledgable and friendly staff,

Went in with ghost shifting, fearing the bike shop desire to make money, I was concerned. They got the bike on the rack immediately, and got everything put back in to place. Most typical LBS would have looked at the opportunity here to make a lot of money, but they bent my Rear D back into whack and sent me on my way as good as new. No issues since.
