I would definitely recommend this tire for use in varied terrain as typically found in coastal mountains of California. EDIT: this tire works well when aired down in wet leafy, wet root and light mud conditions too.

    Pros
Rear tire on both hard and soft tail 29ers. Run at 25-30 psi for hard packed, rocky trails with some scree and little sand. Performs very well in dry varied terrain. Have not had a chance to use in wet conditions. EDIT: Riding in North Carolina this week on leafy, wet, root infested and slight muddy terrain. Aired down to 18 psi for better ground contact and improved traction for conditions. Very happy with the overall performance of this tire in varied terrain. Would highly recommend.

Love this tire. Run it up front and It always ride like it's on rails. The 2.3 gives a cushy ride at 18 psi and absorbs the trail. I Love this tire up front!

    Pros
    Lightweight
    Super Sticky
    Nice Look
    Reliable
    Tubeless

On my singlespeed I use this as my front tire and the Wolverine as my back tire. This combination gives me incredible speed and even better traction. try it.

    Pros
great grip on anything that you ride it on. sticks to the ground like glue and with the 2.3 width gives great flotation in soft sand

Switched from a Kenda small block on the front of my 29er ht. It definitely improved performance and gave me some grip on looser terrain without sacrificing speed. I have only had it on for a few months but seems like it will wear off faster than my sb8s. I'll have to come back to update this review once that is confirmed. Otherwise, very happy with this product. Good price and great performance, highly recommended!ProsFast but grippy on hard packed terrain, easy tubeless setup.ConsRubber feels soft, will possibly wear off fast.

I was running WTB Bronson's TCS on the front and rear, read somewhere someone loved the Weirwolf up front and thought I'd give it a try. I run 21 PSI on the front and it is almost as if the tire is velcro'd to the ground. Love the traction and the smooth roll she gives. Fast and Agile. It's a great Front Tire

    Pros
    Lightweight
    Tubeless
    Grippy

Love this tire as a replacement for my entry level tires, which I had for like a week and wore through them. These tires are almost as expensive as car tires!!! Although the price says $30 dollars, it's actually $65 !!! I only got this for the back; which needed most care.

    Pros
Great cornering, deep tread, awesome look.

    Cons
    Super expensive item.

I would recommend these tires. Supposedly they are redesigned for 2012. They have more then ample tread yet rolling resistence is not compromised much from my prior Specialized LK Control tires. Paid $50.00 each at REI...however foldable tires tend to cost a little more.I would definately recommend these tires.

    Pros
Handle Great on all trail surfaces in Dry Conditions. Handle well on wet trails although they don't shed mud as quickly as I would like. Low rolling resistence. Corner very well. At 38 psi back, 35 psi front still grip great.

    Cons
Seemed to slip on larger wet roots but so would most tires I guess.

If you are an AM guy like me with loose dirt and rocky conditions. This tire may be for you.

    Pros
Grip great in corners. Knobs allow good climbing and descending. Tubeless!

    Cons
    Nothing yet.

UST has a strong reenforced side walls

    Cons

    Reviewing WTB Weirwolf LT:

I'm running this tire on the front of my rigid 29er. It mounted up tubeless to my Stans rims no problem, and I've been running it at 18psi ever since.

It's a great hardpack and dry condition tire, which is what it's made for. It tends to slip and slide in loose or wet conditions though, which is expected.

Not the lightest big volume 29er tire on the market, but it's a good compromise between weight and durability and tubeless use.

I'm very happy with this tire

    Pros
    -Low rolling resistance
    -Lots of volume
    -Works well tubeless
    -Good braking traction

    Cons
    -Cornering traction could be better

If you ride in loose dry conditions, a great tire. Not good for wet or muddy conditions though.

    Pros
    Avail. in 2.5" width

    Cons
Are kinda soft and wear quickly

Overall good tire, but I'd personally spend my money on Velociraptors instead.

    Pros
Killer grip on loose flat trails and absolutely the best bite in the worst of sandy conditions.

    Cons
Weak side knobs cause a lot of shifting and sideways sliding when riding in hard packed, rocky, and root laden trails, especially when run at low pressures

Highly recommend for anyone on any budget. These have been the best upgrade I've done to date that has immediately improved my game. They corner and stop so well, I find myself pushing much harder into the corners. If they do break loose, it only takes a minor correction to hook back up and continue - if they don't correct themselves.

    Pros
Great value - paid $29 per.
    Excellent traction in all conditions.
Corner better than anything I've ever ridden.
Can run at higher pressures and still maintain good traction.
They look great and leave cool tracks! :)

    Cons
Load up a bit and get slick in mud or sticky soil.
Wear fast on pavement - not great if you have to ride to the trailhead.

    A bit heavy.

These are great east-coast tires, I frequently have traction climbing with others have slipped on a root or something. Changed my riding for the good.

    Pros
Hooks up great in loose/rocks/rooty conditions, good in the wet, clears mud well, 2.5 just barely fits in my Skareb fork, easy to mount on mavic rims

    Cons
    none
