Seems pretty average to me. Slips a little during sharp turns in sand, but I really don't think there could be sand too deep for it in a straightaway. I ride almost exclusively off-road and the tread seems to be wearing down pretty quickly.
Fanastic all-around tire that can be used in any conditions. They corner well, and produce very little rolling resistance. However their performance is short lived and they wear very fast.

I used the 2.3 mx as a front tire and loved it other than weight which wasn't really that bad this is a great all around tire. I didn't think it wore out fast as in other reviews.
