Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a great mid level HT mountain bike
Pros Compared to a 2012 trek cobia it's much lighter. Less weight equals better climbing and over all better performance. Comes well equipped. From the factory with XT components.
Cons Stock tires not the greatest for my desert riding.
After years of riding cheaper hardtail 26ers, I finally made the jump to the 29er. I love this bike! I was worried that that the bike would feel big and cumbersome, but it has been the exact opposite. I carry so much more speed on the trail, and more importantly the ride is so smooth and much more fun. I also have a much easier time climbing hills. The Trek geometry makes the bike so easy to steer and flick around on the trail. This is an awesome bike for people like me who have been riding cheaper 26ers that want to step up to a quality 29er without spending thousands of dollars.
