For what it's worth, this bike got me out of the gate and onto the trail, was light enoughto carry back when tossed into the rocks, however when riding you are aware that the bike could use a diet... I have had my 930 for 12 years with only basic repairs (until a rock showed me a tale about the theory of how objects in motion tend to stay in motion, objects at rest, stay at rest... And in between, a broken yellow fork)ProsMade in USA frame, easy maintenance, light for steel frame.ConsMade in USA frame, weak fork, steel frame

The 930 was a decent ride for the early 90s. I rode this thing all over CO and UT. It was originally geared a little too high for the long climbs in CO, but that was easy to fix. Over the first 5 seasons, I broke/wore_out nearly everything. I even broke the fork and frame. Trek waranteed the frame, and I upgraded to front suspension. I rode this thing until it got hard to find parts in the mid-late 2000s.ProsPretty good all around mtb for the era before suspension.Consold school
