I ride some trails that's muddy and I enjoy a good swamp but imo the pros outweigh the cons by massive amounts.
Pros I'm running tubeless 4.8s since a year back with orange seal and I'm now replacing me wifes vee mission with the 4.0 version. Using fattystripper as tubeless kit.
I went from vee snowshoe and the difference is huge in every aspect.
Very low rolling resistance both on and off road.
No self steering.
Feels light and made the bike as a whole feel much more light and easy to handle.
Great for climbing steep hills and awesome in the woods regardless of the trail.
Awesome grip.
Fast.
Works good in snow.

Pros Set up tubeless they are very low rolling resistance. I mean very low. Very low weight, very little understeer in low pressure. good wear, good all around tire both on road and off
Cons Noise on pavement Not great in mud or on ice.
I replaced my Minions with these and have never looked back. Bought another rear when the first one wore down to the nubsProsRolls like a greased pig
