This Maxxis Minion DHR 27.5x2.4" EXO, WT, TLR came stock on my new bike. Have no real complaints about this tire, except maybe weight but you really can't have toughness and light weight together. Tough tire with great grip.
This front tire excels in Co Springs where the terrain is loose granite gravel over hardpack dirt trail. It is a heavy tire and can feel like pushing a plow uphill, but downhill the confidence lets you rip!ProsIdeal for loose over hard,

I have the 29 / 2.35 on the front and rear
Great tire for the descents over wet sketchy rock gardens.
I have them on my hardtail and they really allow you to get into the more technical terrain
Pros Excellent grip
tubeless
goes well in any conditions
Never had a puncture
All mountain do it all tire
Cons They aren't the fastest rolling tire but its probably made up for by the extra grip you get out of them.
Pros Surprisingly low rolling resistance for a knobby DH inspired tire. Grips all surfaces well and really shreds through the loose stuff. Well supported side knobs that dig in with minimal squirm. Sets up tubeless super easy have not had a flat or any burps.
I put this tire and the DHF on my 2016 Trek Xcaliber 9 today to replace the stock Bontrager XR 1's which I hated. It was like owning a new bike. I rode faster because I never felt out of control and tackled several downhill sections I have always walked before. If you are having stability problems, try some Minions.
I switched from Kenda Nevegals to Maxxis Minions on my 29er and have never been happier. Riding the CO Frontrange can put a hammering on tires if you ride hard and I'm not looking back. Defintiely worth the added weight on the climbs.
Pros By far the best grip I have experienced yet. This tire chews and naws while begging for more. Don't be afraid to lean it over hard.
I only have these tires below to compare to.
This tire replaced my High Roller 2.35, the 2.5 is a bit wider than the High Roller and the same size as my 2.25 Maxxis Crossmark
Corner grip destroys the high roller, I've gone much faster and still have yet to reach the limit.
Would recommend

i run 2.5" on rear and front and they are noticeably slower but would trade the benefits of braapability any day
Pros
Great grip. Soft but durable compound. Burly AM tire.
Cons
Thank |weight and resistance. It's an AM tire tho so pick your poison
A nice round-edge tire for all mountain that really holds up well despite having tall-ish knobs. Really an any-condition tire for me.
Pros
Sturdy, durable, quality tire. Ran it on the front and rear - prefer it on the front.
Cons
Thank |Not the grippiest tire I've owned. Washes out easier than the DHF and HRII
Yes, without hesitation. It's a great tire to throw up front on your favorite trail ripper.

Cons
Thank |- price and weight
