Better handlebars obviously four-point I can handle bar bracket I'm taller seat post possibly with an angled backseat maybe just for the larger rider because it fits a 6 foot one person but it's very short so if you just made the seat go back a little bit more it would be the perfect bike for that money you can't beat it and all the 29 are your desks and shit fit so if you got I got 420 Niners I hate to things but they've got a lot of useful parts for this bike We all put Road handlebars on it I don't know No I have a original mongoose that has the back panel box it was it going on there with the fuck you folks grips and the horns on the end I went to the bike really needs is a larger big sprocket that so you can get a little more speed AAA that's the top speed does not make me happy
Pros Rigid suspension in rear Short wheelbase makes it very maneuverable everything works great on it for a disc brakes work excellent in my opinion is the best Walmart quick for under $200 and if you have a problem with the handlebars in the seat take a seat off another bike it's got a Tonna post and upgrade the handlebars that's not expensive you should probably find one of your old bike that had the handlebars you want
Cons People expect way way too much for what they pay
This is a great beginners bike for the price and works well for smaller easy trails but the shorter fork travel on the front means if you are riding hard you should expect to bottom them out quite a bit. The aluminium frame is very nice since you do not have to worry about scratches rusting out the paint around the area and the rear swing arm is very sturdy due to the set up of the rear shock.
Pros Cheap
Good beginner bike
Aluminium frame
Sturdy rear triangle
Disc brake on the front
Cons Chain can jam easily between 7th gear and the frame
Low pedal clearance
Short front fork travel
V-brakes on the back
Been to forks trail system. Harbison state park. Saluda shoals. Probably have roughly 100 miles on it nothing broken nothing replaced for the price its a great entry bike to get you started
For the price and being a beginner this was the perfect bike but after I rode it way to hard it started to break had to replace a shifter and both of my wheels are bent... I have repaired it and still have it as a back up bike but it got me through most of my first season of hitting the trails I have upgraded to a mongoose 29er xr-pro and costing about twice as much as my Genesis 2100 it's still affordable atabout $350... Don't hesitate to buy the Genesis if you are thinking about getting into biking but be prepared to buy an upgrade bike if you decide that mountain biking is something you like!
For what I paid and what it has allowed me to do I have to say money well spent. I hit a few trails regularly and really my biggest complaint is clearance. Which is a purchase of a shorter crank arm (or set) and ill probably upgrade my front fork sooner or later. The durability besides snapping my handle bar on a freak fall riding around the neighborhood- I've taken spills and even bounced the bike out of the back of my truck down the interstate with out causing serious catastrophic damage to the bike. It has been dependable and required little maintenance perfect for a curious rider who is looking to dable before deciding if cycling is for you. Would suggest you take the time to get the bike tuned up immediately after purchasing it. My bike has been a great learning tool for me without having to worry about ruining a more expensive bike.
If anyone has bought aftermarket/upgraded parts let me know how that has worked out. I fear that will be difficult to find parts that fit.
Pros Durable, easily maintainable, cheap
Cons Terrible pedal clearance, seat is hard and handle bars aren't good
Upgrade to a decent pair of 100mm forks. I have about 1000 miles on this bike and it is still going strong, shifts well. If you are looking for an enexpensive bike this is it.
Pros Cross Country it works well with upgrades.
Cons Ditch the forks, seat, bars, grips. The pivot bushings ware out quick.

Thank |Buy a diamond back if you're gonna buy a bike from wal mart. Genesis are terrible and frustrating.
Pros
Cost
Cons
Thank |short turn radius, impossible to upgrade, even with good maintenance will not with stand a full season of normal xc trail ride wear/conservative. Funny story I fell off riding in town at a very low speed handle bar snapped in half. Point is durability is awful. If you end up having a god wreck and bending the chain stay-bottom arms in the 4 bar linkage you will have shifting problems because there is no dérailleur hanger it mounts to the frame so you're screwed there. The cranks must be like 180mm you will always have terrible pedal clearance on turns or over uneven terrain.

Pros
This is my first MTB so i don't have anything to compare it to. For the price you can't beat it for a beginner.
Cons
Thank |Some of the parts are kinda cheesey, but it is a wally world bike. Replacement parts/upgrades are easy enough to find and install.
