Model/Year: 2016

Pros: Compared to a 2012 trek cobia it's much lighter. Less weight equals better climbing and over all better performance. Comes well equipped. From the factory with XT components.

Cons: Stock tires not the greatest for my desert riding.

Recommendation: Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a great mid level HT mountain bike

Model/Year: 2014

Pros: Light weight
strong
good looking
good components
reasonable price

Cons: heavy wheels
bottom of the line handlebar and seatpost

Recommendation: I have been riding this bike for little over a year now and i really like it. It has a little over 2200 miles on it and it still works perfectly fine. Stock, pretty much everything is good except for the handlebars and the wheels. Even though the frame is aluminum, it is still really nice with only a few chips in it. The bike is around 25 pounds stock.

Pros: Lightest 20" bike I could find. Even lighter than most smaller kids bikes. Weighs in at ~ 19#'s.

Cons: Grip shift. End of grip with shifter wants to keep sliding out. I have to push it back in several times per ride. My five year old just started riding this as a sibling hand me down and is having a hard time with grip strength to shift.

Recommendation: Excellent bike. Hands down best 20" bike I put my hands on. Would recommend to anyone trying to encourage a young rider to like mountain biking.

Model/Year: 2012 Singlespeed

Pros: Light, stiff, G2 Geometry...

Cons: minimum frame protection.

Recommendation: Set this frame up with some good components and build a killer XC Race Bike.... I have this frame in both geared and singlespeed.... No complaints.. Great Frame Warranty as well.....

Model/Year: 2013 17.5"

Pros: Very lightweight, handles great

Cons: none for me

Recommendation: After years of riding cheaper hardtail 26ers, I finally made the jump to the 29er. I love this bike! I was worried that that the bike would feel big and cumbersome, but it has been the exact opposite. I carry so much more speed on the trail, and more importantly the ride is so smooth and much more fun. I also have a much easier time climbing hills. The Trek geometry makes the bike so easy to steer and flick around on the trail. This is an awesome bike for people like me who have been riding cheaper 26ers that want to step up to a quality 29er without spending thousands of dollars.

Model/Year: 2012

Pros: Not too heavy. Fox fork. Tubeless ready wheels.

Cons: Price, for what you get.

Recommendation: For what you get for the money, this bike is 'decent' at best. It could have been built with better components for the same price. It's an admirable hard tail, even with g2 geometry. I still ended up changing out several components to match my needs, which i didn't expect to do on a bike of this price. It served me well for one season, but after this bike i vowed never to buy a complete bike again unless it has exactly everything i want for the price. I'd recommend this bike for a seasoned rider that isn't ready to pony up the funds for carbon.
