Model/Year: 2018

Pros: Razor sharp handling, climbs well, excellent suspension, nice price. This is a great bike.

Recommendation: Great bike at a reasonable price point. I'm back after a 15 year layoff, but my first full suspension bike was a Yamaha Moto Bike back in 1976, lol. Others were a 1994 Amp Research FS and a 2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR. Compared to my older bikes the new Stumpjumper is amazing. 150mm of suspension is awesome to soak up trail trash. New innovations (to me) like 1x drive and dropper post are great additions. Love the peace of mind an aluminum frame gives, and the frame quality is outstanding.

Model/Year: 2015 Stumpjumper FSR Comp Evo 650b

Pros: Very agile and nimble, easier than the Enduro to flick around trails.

Cons: Rides low. you're going to clip here and there, shorten your cranks and go to a 160mm fork, go tubeless!

Recommendation: Switched out to 170mm RaceFace Next SL cranks & 11mm lo-pro AE-03 pedals, Rockshox Pike RCT3 160mm front shock, Rockshox Monarch Plus-R rear shock, Shimano XT 8750 brakes, 203mm & 180mm ICE rotors, SRAM X01 11-speed rear derailleur, X1 cassete, X1 chain, Renthal 50mm Apex stem, Renthal Carbon Lite Fatbar, Roval Traverse fattie rims, DT Swiss hubs, Maxxis Minion DHF 27.5 x 2.3, MInion DHR II 27.5 x 2.3, ODI A.Gwin grips,

Model/Year: 2014

Pros: Smooths out some of the bumps more than other hardtails I've ridden. Comfortable ride.

Cons: The bike wants to go faster than I can make it go!

Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone looking for an awesome hardtail!

Model/Year: 2011 Stupjumper HT 29er Expert Carbon

Pros: Amazing bike. Super responsive and accelerates like crazy.

Cons: Cracked the chain stay on my third ride taking a minor spill. Specialized customer service was terrible and offered me no affordable replacement. I bought the bike for $2500 and they wanted me to pay $1400 to replace a frame I'd ridden three times. I don't buy specialized bikes anymore after this experience.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: Awesome bike. This is my first higher end mountain bike and it has proved to be well worth the money spent. I built mine up from the frame and fork, but it is light and durable and has yet to give me any significant trouble. The press-fit 30 bottom bracket system was super easy to use and made installing a crankset a piece of cake.

Cons: The 90mm fork is great for an XC bike, but a little more travel wouldn't hurt.

Recommendation: For someone looking for an entry level high end XC bike, this is a great place to start, and the possibilities are endless!

Model/Year: 2012

Pros: I feel extremely stable rding this bike. Very responsive and quite light. I can't complain about any of the stock equipment. In a couple more years I'll look to buy a new one.

Cons: I wish the color patterns could be different, but if that's my only bitch then it's not that big of a deal.

Recommendation: I'll buy another

Model/Year: 2004

Pros: It is a solid and dependable frame. It was fairly light for the time, and I have to do very little maintenannce to keep it running. It has spots to add disc brakes (I still haven't made that move). The Fox 80mm fork as always performed great.

Cons: It has only fueled my addiction to mountain biking. The original seatpost sheared the bolt that held the seat to the post.

Recommendation: Bought it used in 2006 to replace my rigid frame that was washed away in the hurricane. It has been a great bike. Outside of the seat post and some personal changes to the handlebar and stem, I have only had to grease or lube the drivetrain to keep it going. I would like to make the move to a FS bike, but this one will not be leaving my garage. Great mountain bike.

Pros: I love the weight, the quality of materials, good welds.

Cons: Cost, but you get what you pay for.

Recommendation: I rock the SS 29er and seriously if you are debating any SS go for it. The quality of the bike is ridiculous, never had a problem mechanically. Over all this bike is rock solid and fun to ride. BUY IT!

Pros: I bought the 2007 Plain Stumpy cuz i got such a good deal on it since she is 2 years old, even though she's brand new. she corners like she's on rails, very lite like 23 lbs, im used to a 35 lb hardtail you can throw her around like a ragdoll, the fox shock just plain kicks ass, shifts faster than a car, climbs like a cat.

Cons: crank makes a crickin noise on my first ride with this bike, The V-Brakes are great even though most bikes at this price got discs...

Recommendation: GET IT! JUST DO IT! that is if ya like to go fast.
