Model/Year: 2012/2015

Pros: Lightning fast
Superb handling
Best build fame quality
Nibble and light!!!!!!!

Cons: 2012 has SRAM brakes - compleat rubbish.
New 2015 great but not much up on 2012. It is hard to beat.

Recommendation: Get a 999 if you mid or pro rider. If you don't have the $$ for a new one the 2012 is the same brilliant unbeatable bike and a very good price - remove the SRAM and throw in the trash can and replace with other.

Model/Year: 1999

Pros: Light weight full suspension cross country race oriented bike.

Cons: Flexy chainstay
Considerable brake chatter on stutter bumps

Recommendation: Decent race oriented FS bike. Suspension style is still used by different manufacturers and is still viable.

Was better when I upgrade to full XT and Raceface group.

Pros: No suspension bob.
Good and stiff.
Great hindling!

Cons: I like a little more suspension to ride technical trails.

Recommendation: I have rented Elements on a few occasions over the last five years. This is a well-built point-and-shoot bike that will provide a superb ride for long days in the saddle. I've never found another 4-inch bike at any price that I like better.

Pros: A good all around bike for those getting into a full suspension bike and a great bike for the price (around $1,200).

Cons: The only thing I wish is that it was a bit lighter.

Recommendation: Recommended for an intermediate rider looking for a good bike without spending a bundle! I happen to love mine.
