Two weeks ago, Yeti Cycles released an updated version of their ARC hardtail, however it was produced as a collector’s item. Oddly enough, the collector’s ARC has modern geometry, and looks like a slack and serious hardtail from the racy brand. Of course though, it would be a little odd to run up a new carbon mold for only 100 bikes, which is what Yeti said they had available of the 35th anniversary ARC.
Well, for those who wanted one, but couldn’t see themselves spending $10,000 on a hardtail, Yeti is reproducing the ARC in mass again with several build options.
“We’ve been so focused on full suspension bikes for the past five years we forgot how fun a hardtail could be,” says Yeti’s president, Chris Conroy.
The new ARC is a 29er, of course, with a 130mm fork, internal cable routing, and aggressive geometry. Yeti is also fitting all builds with a Fox 34 fork. They are producing the ARC frames in a C-series frame, and a T-series frame. The Turq frames are lighter and come with a heftier price tag.
Yeti is making the hardtail in four sizes, S-XL. Geometry starts with a 67° head tube angle and a steep 76° seat tube angle, followed by 433mm chainstays. On the medium, the wheelbase measures 1,171.5mm, with a 445mm reach.
Pricing for the ARC starts at $1,900 for the frame, and the entry-level C1 build costs $3,500 and comes with a Shimano SLX drivetrain, Shimano Deore 2-piston brakes, Fox Transfer dropper post, and DT Swiss M1900 wheels.
The Anniversary edition is still the most costly at $9,900, with a Fox Factory 34, SRAM AXS electronic drivetrain, and SRAM Level Ultimate brakes. There are four other build levels in between the C1 and the Anniversary ARC.
