Vali di Sole and Big Bear bike parks set opening dates

The Val di Sole bike park in Italy is set to open June 2, 2022 just in time to kick off the IMBA Europe Summit being held there. Check the Val di Sole website for hours and ticket prices.

Summit Bike Park also announced they’re opening on June 10, with chairs 1 and 2 running. Additional terrain will open as weather permits.

Iconic Santos wooden corkscrew demolished

One of the most well-known wooden features at the Vortex freeride area in Santos was recently removed. According to the Ocala Mountain Bike Association, “The old girl was full of rot and would have taken too much to repair the structure present.” Many of the wooden features in the Vortex were designed and built by Ray Petro, founder of Ray’s Indoor MTB Park in Cleveland.

Lift-serviced bike park coming to Illinois

Work has just begun on constructing a mountain bike park at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, Illinois. Phase I is set to open late this summer.

Following seasonal wildlife closures, the mountain bike trails around Eagle, Colorado officially opened for biking this past weekend. Still, riders are reminded to avoid the trails in wet conditions.

7 MTB trail hubs coming to southern Belgium

The Wallonia region in Belgium has committed to opening mountain bike trails in seven hubs to attract tourists to the area.

RAMBO begins construction of jump line

Not only does the Roswell-Alpharetta Mountain Bike Organizations have one of the best acronyms, they also maintain one of the best public freeride areas in the state at Big Creek park. This year, the club is building their largest jump line yet. Construction of the new trail, called Hollywood, begins in May and is expected to be completed by July.

New trails

Cascade View trails (Redmond, Oregon): This newish trail system is supported by the Central Oregon Trail Alliance and features a stacked loop layout with beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails.

Quarry’s Edge Park (Griffin, Georgia): The official ribbon cutting for the park is happening this Saturday at 10am. Quarry’s Edge boasts five miles of singletrack for beginner and intermediate riders.

Wild Mersey Trails (Latrobe, Tasmania): Wild Mersey just added seven new trails and 10km of singletrack to the network with trail names like Sweet Caroline, Funky Chicken, Harden Up, and Syked Out.
