Santa Cruz PayDirt grants announced

Santa Cruz recently announced their 2022 PayDirt trail grant awards which includes funding for new trails and MTB skills parks in France, Tennessee, Georgia, and New Jersey. In addition, grants have been awarded to bike programs supporting traditionally overlooked groups of riders.

Moonshiner’s Delight trail opens at Bays Mountain

A new, 4.2-mile-long trail called Moonshiner’s Delight was officially opened at Bays Mountain Park near Kingsport, Tennessee. The grand opening coincided with the park’s 50th anniversary, and is “the longest trail in the park and the first one built in nearly a decade,” according to the park.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort adds new trails for the season

The bike park at Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia just opened for the season this past weekend, and there are a few new trails to explore. Salad Fingers, as shown in the video above, is a 4km green route that looks like fun for everyone.

Sourwood Trail opens in Campbellton Creek Nature Preserve

MTB Atlanta is on a roll, opening the roughly 2.5-mile Sourwood Trail this past weekend. The new trail is located southwest of the city and is fast and flowy with countless grade reversals. There’s not a lot of climbing here which makes it a fun trail for young riders.

COMBA hosting open house for new Black Hawk trail under construction

COMBA is planning construction of a new trail at the Maryland Mountain trail system in Black Hawk, Colorado and the group is hosting an open house tomorrow, June 9 for riders to learn more about the project. “Let us know what types of features and experiences you hope this trail will add to the already fun system on Maryland Mountain. Jagged Axe Trail Designs, Team Evergreen and Orbea will all be on-hand along with our partners at Boulder Mountainbike Alliance to chat about all things Maryland Mountain, trail building, MTB’ing, and bikes!” Space is limited so RSVP here.

Hidden Valley bike trails open in Ontario

This past weekend the Huntsville Mountain Bike Association celebrated the opening of the Hidden Valley bike trails. “We had a big group of 50+ riders come out and enjoy the new trails here in Huntsville. It is great to have Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area and Town of Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario support our vision of more green space for everyone to enjoy. Hidden Valley is now home to mountain biking trails for both intermediates & beginners!”

Proposal to build XC, cyclocross bike park in Lincolnshire Wolds

A public comment period is open for a proposed bike park in Lincolnshire Wolds, UK that could bring facilities for all types of riding from cyclocross to XC and dirt jumping. The plan also includes a pump track and trails rated from beginner to advanced.

Maine county gives $10,000 for new trails

Looking at successful New England trail destinations like the Carrabassett Valley, Maine and East Burke, Vermont, organizations are putting significant funding into the Little Moose Public Lands area. The Piscataqui County Commission is contributing $10,000 toward a project planning to bring 25 miles of trail to the region, which could ultimately cost around three-quarters of a million dollars. Moosehead Outdoor Alliance has permits from the appropriate land agencies and they hope to have some of the first trails open late this summer.
