Marin Bikes have a new edition of the Alpine Trail out today, and it has a carbon frame and progressive geometry that matches their aluminum model.
The Alpine Trail Carbon is still built on 29″ wheels with 150mm of rear travel and a 160mm fork. The geometry is identical to the aluminum frame, and the rear triangle is still aluminum. Marin uses a Horst link suspension design for the bike.
A size medium has a head tube angle of 63.5°, an seat tube angle of 78°, 430mm chainstays across sizes, a 1,229mm wheelbase, a low 694mm standover height, and of course a short offset fork.
Marin included a replaceable downtube protector to keep the frame in shape and an accessory mount underneath the top tube.
There are two builds available for the Alpine Trail Carbon. The ‘2’ has a Fox 38 Performance fork with a DPX2 Performance shock, a Shimano XT/SLX groupset, an FSA Gradient crankset, and Maxxis Assegai tires front and rear. MSRP for this model is $4,099.
The Alpine Trail Carbon 1 has a RockShox Yari RC and Deluxe Select+ shock, with a Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain and MT420 4-piston brakes, with Maxxis Assegai tires front and rear. This model sells for $3,189. Check out all the details on the Marin website.
