G-Form E-Line Pads add Hard Shell over Signature SmartFlex Design

G-Form, known for its low-profile, fit-like-a-glove knee and elbow pads, has a new and tougher option for mountain bikers called the E-Line.

The E-Line pads are designed to be flexible and conform to a rider’s joints, while providing a high level of protection. The padding is made to harden on impact, quickly buffering the layer between skin, bone, and the trail. After the crash, the material returns to its soft and flexible nature.

The new pads are G-Form’s first “quad-layer protective system.” Inside there is a soft and ventilated foam layer for comfort. The SmartFlex protective padding lays on top of the mesh, followed by a layer of Armortex, an anti-abrasion material. Armortex is a kevlar-based material that “resists tearing of the pad against aggressive terrain.” Finally, on the outside is a flexible hard shell that takes the brunt of the impact on hard-surface crashes.

G-Form integrated what they call an Active Airflow System that vents all the way through the pad. The pads are strapped with a zipper and velcro hook-up. The E-Line knee and elbow guards are available in adult sizes S – XL. The knee guards cost $110 and the elbow guards are $100. E-line pads are sold online at Backcountry, evo, and G-Form.
