The 29er makeover continues to spread. Cannondale now has a 29-inch version of their popular enduro race machine and all-mountain bike, the Jekyll.
It isn’t a huge makeover for the bike, though, and looks like the only change is that their will be a 29er frame option. Most of the geometry is the same, but a few things will change.
Geometry for the 2018 Cannondale Jekyll 27.5-inch model included a 65-degree head angle, 75-degree seat angle, and a 420mm chainstay length.
For the new 29er model, the head and seat angles are the same, the chainstays have been stretched by 22mm, the wheelbase is of course slightly longer, by about an inch, and the reach is a few millimeters shorter.
A lower-priced build, the Jekyll 29 3, includes a Fox Float Performance 36 fork and Fox DPS Evol rear shock, a TranzX dropper post, Stan’s Flow S1 wheels, Maxxis Minion tires, SRAM Guide R brakes, and an NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain.
The high end build, the Jekyll 29 1, includes a Fox 36 and DPX2 shock, Stan’s Flow Mk3 rims, a SRAM X01 Eagle 12-speed drivetrain and Guide RSC brakes, and a Kashima coated Fox Transfer dropper post.
No further details on pricing, availability, or if this will replace the 27.5-inch Jekyll were available at time of publishing. Check the Cannondale website for more information.
