Norco says, “Please stop riding your bike immediately.” Voluntary recall comes just 2 weeks after the Fluid’s release

On July 15, Norco released its latest iteration of the budget-friendly Fluid trail bike. The 140/130mm (F/R) aluminum mountain bike saw significant geometry changes, a flip chip for a 27.5 rear wheel, and solid builds at impressive prices. The Norco Fluid A2 features RockShox suspension, Shimano brakes, Shimano drivetrain, and Schwalbe radial tires for $2,900.

Fast forward just over two weeks, and Norco is asking its customers to stop riding their new Fluids. In a voluntary recall, Norco claims that the 2027 Fluid’s “seat tube could fail under certain use conditions.”

Singletracks reached out to Norco for further clarification but hadn’t heard back as of press time. The following information is from Norco’s August 1 release of the voluntary recall:

Dear Norco Rider,

At Norco, rider safety is always our top priority. In keeping with that commitment, we are issuing a voluntary safety recall for MY27 Fluid models. While no accidents or injuries have been reported, we are taking this action proactively in the interest of your safety.

Reason for the Recall

We have identified that the seat tube could fail under certain use conditions.

What’s Affected?

This recall applies to all models and all sizes of the following bikes:

• Model Year 2027 Fluid A1 – Blue

• Model Year 2027 Fluid A2 – Silver

• Model Year 2027 Fluid A3 – Green

• Model Year 2027 Fluid A3 – Black

What Happens Next?

Please stop riding your bike immediately. Norco is diligently investigating this issue and will advise of the next steps as soon as possible.
