Norco quietly added a new bike to their website called the Torrent 7, a 27.5+ trail bike that looks like a blast to ride! The Torrent 7 is a hardtail aluminum bike with a slack, 67-degree head tube angle designed around a 120mm+ suspension fork for aggressive singletrack riding.
Both the 7.1 and 7.2 Torrent models feature internal dropper post routing and Boost 148 rear spacing to accommodate wider tires. Speaking of wider tires, the Torrent will ship with 3.0-inch Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires mounted to 45mm rims, which is a refreshing choice given the number of 27.5+ bikes shipping with slightly-narrower 2.8-inch tires. The Torrent 7.1 is built up with a 130mm fork while the Torrent 7.2 comes with a 120mm fork.
Pricing on the Torrent 7 is set at $1,450 for the 7.2 version and $2,425 for the 7.1 version. If you ask me, I say go for the Torrent 7.1–this build includes a Kind Shock dropper post, SRAM GX 1×11 drivetrain, and a 130mm RockShox Yari fork, all for under $2,500. Either way, I would love to throw a leg over one of these bikes!
