Guerilla Gravity Updates USA-Made Pedalhead Steel Hardtail MTB Frame

The beloved GG Pedalhead steel hardtail is back and better than ever, with updated angles and swappable dropouts.

The folks at Guerrilla Gravity have made a name for themselves with USA-made mountain bike frames that have all the awesome of the competition with a smaller environmental footprint. Their beloved 29″ Pedalhead steel hardtail is back and better than ever, with updated angles and swappable dropouts.

These latest bikes will be single-speed-able, thanks to their modular dropouts that allow for easy chain tension. The 12x148mm axle maintains its position when the rear wheel is removed, so there’s no need to reset the chain tension after removing and replacing the wheel. For riders who like to roll between gearing options, this system should work smoothly.

The Pedalhead retains its boxy steel tubing that GG claims will give riders all the stiffness where they need it while maintaining the forgiveness of steel where it’s needed most. Apart from a few centimeters of dropper cable, the housing and hoses are all external and quickly accessible.

The 2022 Pedalhead is only available in size 3, with a 460mm reach and 430mm seat tube that GG says will fit riders between 5’9″ and 6′. The head tube angle is an average 65° at 115mm in length, and the company didn’t share the seat tube angle in their press release. Behind the BB, chainstays are 435mm with the fixed dropouts installed, or 428-437mm with the axle mounted between the sliding dropouts.

GG builds are all customizable, starting at $3,495 with a Pike Select fork and SRAM NX Drivetrain, $4,095 with a Pike Select+ and a GX Drivetrain, and topping out at $4,795 to include a Pike Ultimate and X01 Drivetrain.
