As seasons shift, riders can experience varied conditions in the same location. Maybe spring brings a thawing out, with rain to come and you can get away with a faster tire thanks to hero dirt. By late summer, you could be slashing around in dry, dusty brown pow and need something knobbier to really dig in and find the ground.
Are you someone who wants the right gear for the right conditions or do you skip the hassle and keep the rubber on ’til it’s time to swap?
Bonus question for the comments: What are you summer and winter tires?

But what I want to know is, is Maxxis exiting the fat tire market? I was planning on buying new FBR and FBF 26x4.8 and, well, look at their site..

I have spares that I've bought onsale, but for the most part I'm gashing the sidewall or picking up massive cuts in the tread long before the tread wears out anymore. These days, rotation of road bike to mtb to commuter probably saves me from wearing them out like I used to when I had one bike.

I might swap tires a couple times in a week.
