Thought this would be interesting. Choose all that apply.
I have a rigid and a hardtail, and love both of them. What about YOU?

As in do I currently ride, or have I ever ridden? I clicked "rigid" because I road rigid for several years when I first started, but I don’t ride rigid anymore…

Let’s just do what are you riding right now. (updated the post)
We’ll let this one run for a while then start another for what your next bike purchase might be.

2009 Giant Talon, primarily because it was what I could afford at the time.

I’d be surprised if you didn’t find most people riding a HT or an FS bike. They are simply the more common designs. I’d also guess more HT than anything else because of the $$$ investment that a FS requires.

Can I put 2 votes for dualie for the number of FS bikes in my shed? Lol!

I have two gravity fed FS steeds, one trail FS, one big hit HT, one rigid SS. Enough for me, but I might be adding a DJ real soon. 😄

Going into my fifth year on a Santa Cruz BlurLT. Still love the bike, but craving something new. Could be a single speed 29er, or if the money gods smile my way a Tall Boy sure would be nice.
Backup bike is a Specialized Hardrock.

Currently riding a Trek 3900 hardtail, but would love to upgrade to something better. To switch it up, I also have a Fuji 1.0 Newest for touring and a metallic green Nerve (53, I think) cruiser for stylin’ around town and at the beach. I even have one of those dorky pet carts to take my pups along.

09 Specialized Enduro expert sl, I absolutely love this bike. I don’t see anything else I could use for the moment. Although I wouldn’t be opposed to the new Stumpjumper Evo it got great reviews and looks evil!!
06 Specialized Roubaix roadie, yes I said it roadie!! -

Been riding the Trek 4500Disc… it’s hardtail of course. I love it. Great for learning to ride. I used to do street bmx at the skatepark and am getting into mt biking instead now. Way more enjoyable in my opinion! 😃

Rocky Mountain Flow 2 DJ – A little bit hard to get air under you wheels on the trails around here, so I’ve got to get my fix. -

I need to change my answer. I was riding a HT when I voted. Now I am FS.

I ride my Specialised XC Full Sus or the Specialised S-works Stumpjumper Full Sus depends where I am going. Although I just got a Trek Session 8 and I am still in the process of beating it into submission.
My bike room in the house is getting a bit full, so no more bikes for a bit as my insurance policy only lets me have three. (bike insurance people are clearly not mountain bikers themselves!)

Only three bikes? That’s crazy! Is it home-owners insurance? I need to look into that also.

Congrats on the upgrade! I rented a Camber for a week while on vacation. It’s one sweet bike!

Home contents insurance does not cover it, a typical policy only goes up to the value of £500 maximum.
Because of the value of the bikes I have to take separate insurance out from Cycle Guard

They cover theft of the bikes, damage to the bikes, public liability insurance, being hit by an uninsured driver, break down recovery, accident cover and a lawyer. They also cover competitions
I think they are UK only though so may need to look around.

Ah, thanks. I’ll have to look into that.

Jared13, sorry this might be a bit late.
But there is a cyclist insurance company in the USA that is founded and operated by two mountain bikers.I happen to know a bit about the bicycle insurance business too since I ride as well and have an bike that is insured with Velosurance.
Here is a couple words about home owners policy:
In lots of cases a bike likely will have some very limited coverage under your homeowners or renters policy, however, there are usually limits on the value of the bike and the types of losses that would not be covered, such as theft and damage away from the home. Most home insurance policies will not cover crashes or accidents, especially while racing, so if you wreck out on the road, in a race, or an organized ride you will be out of luck with the home insurance company.
When you file a bike claim against your homeowner’s policy, you risk having your rates increased or the policy cancelled. With a Velosurance cyclist policy you have the peace of mind and satisfaction knowing that your policy is built specifically for you and your bike, and claims will not affect your other insurance rates.

I have my hardtail that I have had since I started riding (will always be my favorite ride) but I just came into possession of my first FS (Specialized Stumpjumper) so I am looking forward to seeing how it goes with that.

I ride a 2001 Gary Fisher Sugar 2. It has served me well. Due to osteo arthritis in my lower back I have to ride a FS bike now. HT’s are too hard on me.

I ride a 1994 Specialized Rockhopper Comp FS with a Manitou 4 front shock. This past few months, I have gotten back into mountain biking since new trails are opening up in my area. I have rebuilt my shock, replaced the headset, new shorter stem and a new 30mm riser bar. I still need to replace my chain, rear derailleur and cassette. That will come after Christmas.
