I had the same problem with my Dart3. Seems it is a common problem with a shipment of forks. I also had the leaking issue as well. SRAM isn’t announcing a recall, however, this hasn’t been an isolated problem by any means.
Fortunately, My LBS made a few calls and 3 weeks later I got a new fork from SRAM.
