Flight Crew LogoAirborne Bicycles just announced on their Facebook page Friday night that they are officially accepting applications for the 2011 Airborne Flight Crew. They are currently looking to fill 6 positions, replacing 5 people from last year and adding 1 new position tobring the total number of Crew members up to 12.

As a returning member of the Flight Crew I can personally vouch for how awesome of a deal this is! It is truly a unique experience to be able to shape the course of a mountain bike brand as it develops.

Influence aside, this is really an incredible gig. In exchange for repping the brand digitally, you get:

  • An (almost) all expenses-paid trip to the Sea Otter Classic
  • 1 or 2 free Airborne bikes for you to keep
  • Other free gear and schwag
  • Insane discounts on the rest of the Airborne line

I’ve written more of my thoughts on being a member of the Flight Crew in this post.In it, I reminisce about all of theunique experiences that I had in 2010 and I look forward to what 2011 has in store.

If you are interested in joining us on the Airborne Flight Crew, you have toact fast: submissions are due by March 15. For more information, please read this document with all of the official rules.

Nice work Goo! Congrats! I’d love to become part of the Crew but it sounds like they want you doin a lot of social media and beside FB, I’m not involved in anything else really.

  • Goo

@Joetutte, thanks man! Yeah being involved in Social Media is a big part of what we do. I’ve got my fingers in almost every major social media site… but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply! What’s the worst that could happen?

  • trek7k

Ahem, joetutt you forgot about singletracks.com – that’s what they call targeted social media in the biz. 🙂

  • Goo

Yeah, exactly! I think my involvement here was probably a big factor when I first applied.

    Love this website!

Good points! I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try. Plus, I got someone on the inside, cough, goo, cough, that could put in a good word for me 😉

I’ve envied your position with the flight crew, and I would LOVE to apply myself, but I know I can’t make the trip in April – already have plans to scope out Charlotte as we may be moving at some point in the near future… damn.

@joetutt, This is as much as I can do for ya man! The decision making lies with the higher ups, lol!

@GoldenGoose, Basically they didn’t really hold up their end of the bargain as far as producing content (videos, blogs, etc. etc.). I’m sure each case was a little bit different, but that’s the long and short of it.

Also, apparently they are wanting to rotate people in and out on a regular basis, in order to keep things “fresh” and new ideas flowing. Recently they mentioned that the longest anyone might be on the Crew is 2-3 years. Not that they don’t like us or anything!
