I wanted to try out a different style this season, so I went totally West Coast. And nothing says West Coast more than a chainsaw and flannel! Lucky for me, Dakine has something right up my alley: the new Oakridge Flannel jersey.

The Oakridge Flannel is a long-sleeve jersey that blurs the line between street wear and bike wear: it’s cut like a regular shirt, but has just enough room in the arms for soft elbow guards.

Made from 170g quick-dry polyester, there are no zippers on this shirt, but a traditional button up front and cuffs take care of closure duties. Since this is 170g flannel, this jersey runs on the hotter side of things. I found it very comfortable in the lower temps, but on some summer days it was too hot to do trail work in.

As far as a riding jersey, I loved the feel of the fabric: there was just enough give in the material to keep it from feeling constricted. Even when using elbow guards and a Leatt vest, I still had plenty of room in the XL, despite my 210lb weight.

MSRP: $75

Many thanks to Dakine for providing the Oakridge Flannel for review.
