Nonstop on Wheels (NOW) Claims XFlow Is Lightest Mountain Bike Helmet… But It’s Almost Definitely Not

Founded in 2014, Nonstop on Wheels (NOW) is a fairly new brand in the mountain bike industry, but they’re quickly making a name for themselves by claiming at Interbike to have the lightest weight mountain bike helmet on the market. At 300±5g, the NOW XFlow is respectable when it comes to weight, but there are certainly other helmets on the market that weigh about the same or less. For example, Art’s Cyclery says the Giro Fantom helmet (size medium, not the small) has an actual weight of 283g, nearly 20g lighter.

The NOW XFlow is notable for its “Spider Web Airflow System” which is designed to channel air through the helmet from front to back instead of simply venting heat. However, other companies say their products work the same way, albeit with slightly different channel designs. The XFlow is not offered with MIPS or MIPS-like features, which may be a deal breaker for some consumers.

Priced at $128, the XFlow does shave a few bucks off the price of the lighter $150 Giro Fantom. The XFlow helmet is offered in five colorways, including two camo patterns. See the video below for more information.
