26" simple as that. You’ll go farther per stroke, you’ll go faster per stroke, you’ll be more stable on gravel, and you’ll be able to just ride over more and larger potholes/rocks/curbs/roots/branches/etc. than you ever could with a 24" wheel bike. 2 inches may not sound like much, but it makes a world of difference (in more ways than one 😆 ).
Since, it seems for the most part like you’ll be riding in what appears to be a flat city that has many un-improved roads I’d suggest the Fusion from Firefox bikes:http://www.firefoxbikes.com/fusion.htm
* 18" Enduro steel frame.
* Front suspension fork.
* Alloy rims
* Shimano 6 speed gears systems with V-brakes.
* Color: Blue / Black
Red / BlackMRP: INR 7,495
The steel frame and front shock should soak up much of the jarring from the ride while also being much lighter than a full suspension bike. The steel frame should also have a longer service life than aluminum.
In a flat city like yours I can’t see that much of a need for the added weight, cost and complexity of anything much more than the 6 speed gears.
If I were in your shoes this is the bike I would buy for the purpose you asked about.
I’m also new to here and fairly new mountain biking in general. I’ll keep my feet in both camps. When I’m riding with other people I’m tune-less. When riding by myself it’s about 50/50 depending on things. I’ll listen to multi-hour long DJ house/dance/funk mixes. Good beats, lots of energy, no dead spots, no sudden change or collapse in tone or style…until the mix ends…
