I personally would consider myself in the AM catagory, like that of my bike. Ready for anything. I like to climb, but definately live for the descent. What type of riding do you like to do?

    • #95698

I love XC…but this being Colorado, climbing and AM are part of the bargain on almost every trail.

I guess I’m a XC rider. Singletrack rules! Been a rider for years on MTB and Road riding. MTB is my favorite ’cause it is hard to get hit by a Buick in the woods. 😄 Later,

I used to consider myself a XC rider, but now I guess I am more of a AM rider. I love to do the drops and the gaps, but not the huge DH type ones.

    • #95701

Love the downhill. I guess you could say, "I feel a need for speed!" 😮

      cross country

I would say that I am an All Mountain rider at my core, but I do do some long XC. Also, I am doing more and more Downhill riding since I now own a full-blown DH rig, but the opportunities to truly ride balls-out DH are somewhat limited around here. However, I do it whenever I can! 😼

as for me and my house, i serve the xc/roadie gods.

Mostly XC here with dreams of going AM.

      XC

But soon, I’m going to dabble into the AM, freeride category and try that on for size! 😃

If I had to catogrize myself I would say AM. I like riding everything, don’t mind the climb if the DH is worth it. For example, last year in Fruita horsethief seemed more of XC trail with some tech here and there but it was a blast non the less. This year I have Monarch Crest trail on the wish list which i have been told is more on the XC side but I still want to rock that trail. Or like portions of the Colorado trail. Or even Rampart res. which i have riden and really seems like a nice XC loop that will definetly get riden again. But when all is said and done
      I AM A MOUNTAIN BIKER PERIOD! 😆 😆 😆

I am xc, considering thats what all the trails around me are. I wouldn’t mind working my way up to AM eventually, even if i had to travel to it.

TRAIL rider, which includes everything, although riding the trail(singletrack)is the priority. That being said,I think I’ll call it "FREE STYLE TRAIL RIDING" 😃. Whata ya think?????? 😄

You will love Monarch Crest, it’s a fabulous ride.

Make sure you include Rainbow Trail on the back side.

I like the Free Style Trail description because before I was a No Style XC with a Clydesdale DH boost package. Titles are everything afterall. Guess you gotta get a handle on your handle or else you’re lost. 😄 Later,

      + another 1

I like that description. As long as I’m on the trail, I’m having a good time 😃

XC all the way. Singletrack rules!!

    • #95717

All about the trails for now but would love to do some AM if I could get the bike and terrain for it.

    • #95718

      Superlight XC.

Good one Steve. I can’t find that category listed on here or MTBR. I smell a golden opportunity to design and sell some bikes. 😆

Propwash and I have plans in place to ride Monarch Crest on the 27th of this month. Getting pretty amped up about it! We are toying with the idea of hitting Trail 401 the next day, plus we’re thinking Kenosha Pass – Georgia Pass on Sept. 10th.

As far as what type of rider; Trek touts the Fuel EX line as "Singletrack Trail". A little rougher than pure XC, but less than full AM. That’s sounds like a good description for what I like to ride the most…

      Let’s see . . .
I don’t have the aerobic capacity to be a xc rider
or the attention span to be a roadie
or the cajones to be a downhiller
or the balance to be a trials rider
I guess that makes me another AM guy!
